car and driver dash cam

ordered the car and driver dash cam 2 weeks ago. got it through a third party electronics store they must have hooked up with. the problem began when i tried to insert the memory card that came with the unit. after 6-7 tries without the unit acknowledging the memory card, i got someone else to try. still nothing, only "insert memory card" on the screen. the instructions tell you to route the power cable up through headliner and down across the dash. problem with this is the cable is so short i can't even have the unit sit on top of my dashboard, much less hang from the front windshield where it's supposed to be. since car and driver used a third party supplier i now have to justify to them why i would like to return this faulty unit and get a refund. since i paid for this by using paypal, i have to fufill their requirement of contacting the third party supplier and comply with their return policy. overall, i am not pleased with this purchase. i would look elsewhere for a dash cam if i intended to purchase one.
